Strength and Movement Exercise Physiology

Strength and movement exercise physiology helps adults build strength, move more freely and get back into regular exercise with a plan designed around their body and health history. Our accredited exercise physiologists guide these programs at St Leonards on the North Shore and Beacon Hill on the Northern Beaches.

You do not need to be injured to benefit. Whether you want to lift with confidence, loosen stiff hips and shoulders or restart after time away, there is a pathway for you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How is an exercise physiologist different from a personal trainer?

Accredited exercise physiologists complete a minimum of four years of university study and specialise in exercise for people with injuries and health conditions. That clinical background can help when you have a health history, a past injury or specific goals to train around.

Do I need to be injured to see an exercise physiologist?

No, many people see us simply to get stronger, move better or restart exercise. Your assessment shapes a program around where you are now.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed for exercise physiology. You can book directly at St Leonards or Beacon Hill, or start with an online session.

What if I have pain or a recent injury?

If an injury is recent or pain is new, our physiotherapy team is usually the right first step. Once you are ready for progressive training, our exercise physiologists can take over, often in consultation with your physio.
